Moog Space and Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: satellites, human-rated space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance. Emerging areas of focus include metal additive manufacturing, blockchain for supply chain, sensor integration, and propulsion test facilities.Moog is looking for an Electronic Technician to work in the Motion Control Department at the North facility located at 1513 North Main Street, Blacksburg, VA. *This will be a full-time position,40 hours per weekResponsibilities: Ability to perform soldering. Correctly store, clean and maintain tools and equipment; verify calibration dates/seals. Accurately and legibly complete data sheets/test reports for part tested. Write test instructions. Design and assemble electronics and electromechanical test setups. Perform qualification, acceptance, or special tests. Develop trouble-shooting procedures. Working knowledge of logic circuitry, including and/or gates and their operation. Must demonstrate ability to use new types of test equipment and test systems. Instruct others in the build and test of electronic and electromechanical assemblies. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and/or electronic equipment. Load and maintain software for Automated Test Equipment as required. Assist in training / cross-training of others. Participate in Continuous Improvement Process. Work with minimal supervision. Perform other duties as assigned. This job requires access to US export-controlled informationRequired Qualifications: A two-year degree in Applied Science such as electronics, instrumentation or equivalent military certifications and experience Experience in testing electrical and electronic components Excellent hand-eye coordination, as well as, the ability to endure heavy lifting with or without reasonable accommodations Experience in the setup and use of typical electronic test equipment such as digital multi meters, oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, environmental chambers. Ability to read and understand electronic schematics.Additional Qualifications: Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is a plus Will be required to complete an in-house soldering certification*As part of the standard onboarding process for a federal contractor, Moog requires each new hire to verify her/his identity and demonstrate legal eligibility to work in the United StatesIn accordance with strict Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company's "F.A.A.
