Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/27/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in MedSurg/Telemetry preferred; first-time travelers accepted based on experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong background in MedSurg/Telemetry - Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care - Strong interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively - Solid written and oral communication skills - Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels - Experience reading telemetry strips - Skills in chest tubes, tracheostomy care, IV starts, drain and tube management, and PCA pump management Description: The RN MedSurg/Tele will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients. The role involves managing patients with general medical conditions. Common diagnoses include diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory issues, renal problems, and wounds requiring dressing changes. Additionally, the RN will perform laboratory draws as needed and manage telemetry monitoring. Patient ratios are typically 5-6 patients per RN and 8 patients per CNA. Collaboration with a team including charge nurses, receptionists, and phlebotomists is essential. Support services such as rapid response teams and intensivists are available 24/7. The unit focuses on patient-centered care and fosters strong teamwork. This position requires the ability to manage medications such as amiodarone, fentanyl PCA, ketamine PCA, dilaudid PCA, and heparin. The RN will work with technologies including electronic medical records, IV pumps, and medication dispensing equipment. Floating to other MedSurg units may be required based on departmental needs.
