week), night shift supervisor position, with on-call rotation
Location: Lynchburg, VA 24502 It takes the best most caring

provided by Horizon's interdisciplinary team of ICF staff which
includes doctors, nurses, psychologists, dieticians, recreational
therapists, OT/PT speech therapists, residential technicians,
counselors, family social workers, case managers, and citizen
volunteers among others. Join the Residential Care Team as Lead
Nurse (Registered Nurse RN) in Horizon’s state-of-the-art housing
facilities where a standard of quality care and safe practices are
held with the highest importance. POSITION SUMMARY The Lead Nurse
(Registered Nurse - RN) will oversee the Licensed Practical Nurses
(LPN) for ICF Housing and manage all medical issues, ensure all
physician’s orders are implemented. This position will keep
physician, supervisor, and nursing staff informed of pertinent
information concerning the individual's response to treatment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must be a graduate of an
accredited nursing program and a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in
the state of Virginia or appropriate multi-state license. BSN
preferred Four (4) years of RN experience, including at least one
year of supervisory/lead nursing experience. With BSN may consider
less experience. RELATED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge
of community mental health and public health in order to provide
advocacy and enhance an individual’s treatment and access to
community resources Knowledge of nursing best practices. Knowledge
of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature
related to mental health, physical health, intellectual
disabilities and substance abuse; Knowledge of psychiatric/medical
medications/treatments. Willing and available to work modified
schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required; Ability to drive
and must possess a valid driver’s license. May be called upon to
travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients and provide
services to clients in other locations. Regular attendance at
trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of
Horizon sites; Ability to participate in and successfully pass
behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal
de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized
