Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Neuroscience Nurse – North Carolina
Start Date: March 16, 2026 Location: North Carolina Compensation:
Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour day
shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required
Highlights: Specialized neuroscience unit caring primarily for
stroke patients, plus epilepsy, subdural hematomas, brain tumors,
and other neuro diagnoses Patient ratio of 1:6 with comprehensive
interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams,
and pharmacy services 13-week contract with 36-hour paid
orientation Epic charting system with access to Pyxis and SBAR
protocols Opportunity to work alongside a specialized 4-bed
Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) Unit census of approximately 50
patients across 55 beds Requirements: Minimum 2 years of nursing
experience, with at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience
required Previous travel experience mandatory – first-time
travelers not accepted; must have completed at least 2 successful
travel contracts Active NC or Compact RN license (must be in hand
at start) Certifications: BLS, NIH, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia
interpretation and management Experience with neuroscience patients
including CVA, seizure disorders, craniotomies, spinal cord
injuries, and traumatic brain injuries Comfort with floating to
other Med/Surg and Tele units as needed, including possible COVID
care areas Must pass EKG testing prior to start date Flu vaccine
