Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Roanoke, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,089 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU/PCU Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU/PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience at a large Level 1 or 2 facility required License: Active state or compact RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with EPIC charting required Ability to float between all ICU and PCU units required Comfortable working with up to a 2:1 patient ratio in ICU and 5:1 in PCU required Description: RN position available for ICU/PCU float nurses. Candidates must be comfortable floating between all ICU and PCU units. Scheduling consists of three 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. Charting will be done using EPIC, and experience is necessary. Floating may occur based on staffing needs evaluated every four hours, potentially leading to 2-3 floats per shift. Weekend requirements may include every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block. Contract includes a requirement to work during one holiday within the 13-week assignment. First-time travelers are accepted. Pending licenses may be accepted if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. All requests for time off must be included with the submission. The facility has the ability to cancel one shift per two weeks. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Clinical skills necessary include IV therapy, management of patients on respiratory support, medication administration, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and adherence to insulin protocols. Candidates should have experience managing arterial lines, central and PICC lines, and blood product administration. Wound care experience with surgical wounds and drains is required. The role includes working with ventilated patients and managing dysrhythmias. Applicants must have experience in critical care nursing at a large teaching hospital. Work environment may include interdisciplinary support from various teams and care for adults and geriatric patients. Travelers must be aware of compliance documents and submission instructions outlined by the facility.
