Emergency Medicine physician job in Florida : Locums Emergency
Medicine Port Charlotte, Florida Start Date: December 31,
2025Contract Length: 3 Months Schedule & Shift Details: 30 hours of
physician coverage daily (6:00am6:00pm, 6:00pm6:00am) Locum will
help oversee three surrounding freestanding EDs (FSEDs) Average 24
hours/day of APP coverage Providers must be comfortable working day
and night shifts Position Overview:This Emergency Medicine locums
assignment provides comprehensive ED coverage in a high-volume
community hospital with responsibility for oversight of three
neighboring FSEDs. The provider will manage diverse emergency
presentations with strong imaging capabilities, APP support, and
dedicated pediatric workflows. Daily Breakdown / Responsibilities:
Annual ED volume: ~35,000 20-bed emergency department with 12
fast-track treatment chairs Care of adult and pediatric patients,
with separate pediatric waiting and triage Use of ultrasound and
fully integrated PACS system Collaboration with APPs and radiology
services for high-efficiency patient flow Facility Details: Stroke
designation: Joint Commission accredited Stroke Center of
Excellence / Comprehensive Stroke Center Imaging: State-of-the-art
CT, radiology, and ultrasound EMR: Meditech P-doc with M-Modal
dictation FSED oversight included Requirements: Board Certified in
Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with 2
years of current ER experience ACLS and PALS required EM residency
training required This locums opportunity is ideal for Emergency
