Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Roanoke, Virginia, 24014! Job
Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit License:
Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: Epic experience required Must be able to float to other
units as needed. Description: This is a hospitalist unit
specializing in general medicine. The unit has a patient ratio of
1:5, with a goal of achieving 1:4. All travelers are expected to
float as needed to other PCU units and potentially Med Surg. All
requests for time off must be submitted upfront. No requests for
time off during the holiday season can be accommodated. Experience
with the Epic charting system is required. The patient population
consists of adults and geriatric patients. The daily census on the
unit is approximately 20 patients. The unit has a capacity of 20
beds. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including
physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The
unit is equipped to manage patients with pulmonary and other
medicine-related conditions. There are two ventilated beds
available for chronic tracheostomy patients. Special procedures and
equipment include telemetry monitoring and various IV drip
medications. Telemetry monitoring remains on units with remote
capabilities implemented. A large number of nurses float throughout
the facility but occasional floating to other PCU or Med Surg units
may be required. Travelers must be willing to work at least one
holiday per assignment. During the winter holiday season, travelers
will be required to work two holidays. Candidates must reside
outside a specified radius to be eligible for this position.
Previous travelers must have a minimum separation period before
returning. Compliance documents will be required before the start
of the assignment. Modules are expected to be completed within the
first 24 hours and will be recorded by the facility. 5 Benefits of
