Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Roanoke, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,308 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Active RN license from a non-compact state or Virginia State/Compact RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Requires experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care/management, and blood product administration. - Skilled in the management of BiPAP/CPAP, care of ventilated patients, and suctioning (ETT, NT). - Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titrating cardiac drips. - Capable of managing continuous IV sedation and emergency medications. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in ICU/PCU/MS float. The nurse must be comfortable working in all ICU, PCU, and MS units. Ratios in the ICU are typically 2:1, in PCU 5:1, and in MS 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1). Charting will be performed using the EPIC system, and familiarity with this system is required. The nurse may float 2-3 times per shift, as staffing needs are re-evaluated every four hours. Weekend requirements include every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week block. The nurse must work one holiday during the 13-week contract. First-time travelers are welcomed. Local candidates may apply but must adhere to the radius rule criteria. Pending licenses may be accepted if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Requests for time off or special scheduling must be submitted upfront. The facility reserves the right to call off one shift every two weeks. Candidates must have a strong background to provide high-quality care to patients. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Special equipment may be used, and the nurse should be capable of working without CNA support. Travelers must commit to starting on the agreed date, and compliance documentation will be required.
