Health to find a qualified Neuro RN in Winston Salem, North
Carolina, 27103! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night
Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years with 1 year
of direct MedSurg experience; Unit will not accept first-time
travelers. License: Current NC or Compact license required at the
time of start. Certifications: BCLS; NIH; NIHSS; ACLS preferred.
Must-Have: - IV Start and Telemetry skills. - Interpretation and
management of dysrhythmias. - Med/Surg neuro experience.
Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical - Neuro
Registered Nurse. The unit cares primarily for stroke patients but
also manages other neuro diagnoses. It includes possible
neurosurgery patients and conditions such as epilepsy and traumatic
brain injuries. The nurse will float to other medical
surgical/telemetry areas as needed. Frequent floating may be
required. Travelers are expected to work every other weekend. If
time off includes weekends, the time will be added to the end of
the contract to compensate. The nurse will be responsible for a
patient ratio of 1:6. Call-offs or additional time off on the unit
may result in cancellations. The unit has a 4-bed Epilepsy
Monitoring Unit. The candidate must pass EKG testing prior to
starting. No holidays off during the first week of the assignment
due to orientation. RTO (request time off) cannot include Easter
Weekend. The candidate may be required to make up any missed
weekend shifts. The unit features 42 daily census and has
additional resources for interdisciplinary support. Candidates are
encouraged to work collaboratively within the team to provide
high-quality patient care. Two successful contracts prior to
application are required. Candidates must be comfortable floating
to different units without restrictions or special requests.
References from managers or supervisors from the last 12 months are
