Key Responsibilities: Execute scrub duties, including selecting and managing instruments and supplies for procedures. Perform circulating tasks, which involve monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient status while overseeing their nursing care before, during, and after procedures. Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning. Prepare operating rooms and ensure surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use. Utilize evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in nursing to provide care tailored to the patient's age and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service. As a nurse, uphold the professional standards defined in our practice model and adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to address the evolving health and nursing needs of our patients. Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times. Carry out additional duties as assigned. Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing. Experience: No prior experience necessary. Physical Requirements: Regularly use speech for effective communication. Consistent standing and walking required. Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Regular sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks. Frequent visual acuity for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, including color differentiation. Regularly use smell to identify odors. Frequent hearing to receive verbal communication and detect alarms or machinery issues. Occasional lifting and moving of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs. Occasional patient handling. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms. Occasional driving may be required. Rarely involves crawling or running.
