Pay Information $2,122 per week About The Position Job Title: RN - CVICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year minimum with CVICU experience License: Required licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferred Must-Have: CVICU experience Description: RN in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is needed. This unit has a capacity of 22 beds and an average daily census of 20 patients. The patient population includes those requiring surgical and medical cardiac critical care. Common diagnoses include post-operative care for CABG, valve replacement/repair, Impella, IABP management, and thoracic aortic aneurysms. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. CNA support is available to assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, and transport. Receptionist support is provided for unit management of phone calls and replacements. Charge nurse support is available and is often present in assignments. Phlebotomy services are available 24/7 within the unit. An intensivist is also available around the clock. Required skills include post-cardiac assessment, knowledge of circulatory support devices, titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications, interpretation of cardiac waveforms, and hemodynamic monitoring. Unit technology includes electronic medical records, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, monitors, and specific unit equipment like CRRT. The unit has a high-acuity and fast-paced culture.
