required; traveler experience accepted. License: Active nursing
license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support certification
required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and NIH Stroke Scale
certification preferred. Must-Have: - Telemetry skills -
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Description: RTO
after booking is not allowed. Any call offs or additional RTO may
result in cancellation. Ratios are 1:5-6. The unit supports both
local and traveling nurses. Candidates must float within the
hospital or to nearby facilities as needed. Weekend work is
required every other weekend. Patient diagnoses include renal
patients and limb preservation cases. This includes patients with
end-stage renal disease, acute renal failure, vascular procedures,
congestive heart failure, diabetes, and diabetic foot ulcers. The
unit is a 41-bed inpatient unit with telemetry capabilities focused
on renal and limb preservation. Patients receiving hemodialysis
will have treatments in a separate hemodialysis unit.
Interdisciplinary teams meet daily to ensure optimal patient care.
Common systems include electronic medical records. Self-scheduling
is available per unit needs. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior
to starting. Candidates must work two out of three major holidays.
No RTO is allowed during the first week of employment. References
from previous employers are required at the start of employment.
Travel pairs are allowed but must work on different units.
Candidates must be flexible and open to working in various
locations and shifts. Travelers cannot work more than five
consecutive days or more than 60 hours per week. Modules and annual
training will be required prior to the start.
