Protouch Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Behavioral Health Assistant for a travel nursing job in Salem, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements

• Employment Type: Travel Unit Description:
  • AU1: Up to 23 adult patients
  • AU2/ADOL: Up to 8 adult and 8 adolescent patients
  • AU3: Up to 14 adult patients
  • Unit support includes unit secretaries and techs. Equipment Used:
    • Quick Release Synthetic Restraints
    • Meditech (Electronic Documentation System)
    • Computer, Printer, Fax, Telephone
    • EKG, Glucometer Scheduling Requirements:
      • Every other weekend
      • Rotating holidays Floating Policy:
        • Required to float to all Behavioral Health units as needed Onboarding Requirements:
          • Completion of Care Experience Module is required during onboarding Certifications Required:
            • BLS (Basic Life Support)
            • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Required Skills & Experience:
              • Behavioral Health Nursing Experience
              • Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation
              • Manual Blood Pressure
              • Glucometer usage
              • EKG Common Procedures on Unit:
                • Observation rounds and monitoring
                • Vital signs
                • Glucose monitoring
                • Patient and belongings search
                • Group therapy (educational) Advanced Skills:
                  Verbal De-escalation
