In this role one will promote and practice safe work habits while performing basic repairs and services on light, heavy duty, and diesel trucks; road construction and maintenance equipment; hydraulic systems; and electrical components. Specific Responsibilities will include: Diagnose and Repair – Diagnose, repair and complete basic tasks on a variety of equipment types such as tires, brakes, lighting, pumps and valves. Use basic scan tools to read and clear check engine light codes. Preventative Maintenance - Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule and guidelines. Maintain Documents and Records - Prepare, process, and maintain required maintenance and repair documentation. Generate documents and work orders in computer system. Perform time and leave entry in appropriate systems. Perform Manual Labor – Perform manual labor to complete assigned tasks. Complete assigned tasks and projects as instructed. Minimum Qualifications • Ability to record and maintain data in computer systems. • Ability to communicate orally and in writing. • Valid driver's license. • Skill in the use of computers for research, navigation and communication. • Ability to read and comprehend and apply information from service and equipment manuals. • Ability to perform manual labor. • Skill in performing light vehicle services and repairs. • Knowledge of general shop procedures. • Safety shoes required. Additional Considerations • A combination of training, experience, or education in Equipment Repair, Auto Repair, or related field desired. • Knowledge of laptop and/or hand-held diagnostic programs. • Knowledge of general welding practices. Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel independently among assigned work locations is required. Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.
